St. Norbert College currently has an opening for an American College Health Association (ACHA) Club Hockey Coach. This position works approximately 10 hours per week and receives a $10,000 stipend per year. Coaching Duties: Serves as the Head Coach for the SNC ACHA Club Hockey Team, including leading practices and coaching on game days. Assists in the scheduling of practice times at Cornerstone Community Ice Center with the help from the SNC Associate Head Hockey Coach. Works with the ACHA Student Club Leadership, SNC Associate Head Hockey Coach and Associate Director of the Campus Center to make sure that all members of the Club Team are registered through the US Hockey Insurance Plan, St. Norbert College Insurance requirements and ACHA and NCHL league memberships. Coordinates with Associate Director of the Campus Center and Associate Head Hockey Coach to determine game schedule, travel arrangements and waivers for away games. Coordinates with Assistant Coaches for practice duties, recruitment and fundraising as needed. Recruitment Duties: Serves as the lead ACHA Club Hockey Team Recruiter, which would include (travel, phone calls, and coordinating on-campus visits) with assistance from Senior Associate Director of Admissions, ACHA Club Hockey Student Leaders and Associate Director of the Campus Center, as needed. Must be knowledgeable regarding St. Norbert College, admissions process, and what it means to be a student athlete. Travel could include visits to Hockey Showcases as needed. Fundraising and Donations: Serves as the leader for the ACHA Club Hockey Team fundraising initiatives, in coordination with the ACHA Club Hockey Student Leaders. Works with the ACHA Club Hockey Student Leaders and parent leaders to develop a ACHA Club Hockey Booster Club that will help support the ACHA Hockey program costs. Works with the ACHA Club Hockey Student Leaders to develop team fundraising initiatives that will help support the club program. Determines with the ACHA Club Hockey Student Leaders the yearly membership dues for team members. Works with the Associate Director of the Campus Center to determine budget needs on a monthly and annual basis. Required minimum qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent At least 3 years of either coaching high school or above hockey or playing at least 2 years of collegiate hockey.
