What are the responsibilities and job description for the Photoprapher position at SAINT PAUL CHURCH?
Summary:
The primary responsibility of this position is to capture events/services through photography for use on various SPBC mediums: social, web, print, etc. to help inspire and influence souls to Christ and people to church.
Primary Duties:
- Shoot photos of church events and services for creative marketing use.
- Collaborate with the Communications team to create relevant photographic assets.
- Produce high quality and consistently beautiful images, correctly exposed and color consistent, in accordance with brand guidelines.
- Facilitate the process of editing images, to include: cropping and maintaining file size specification guidelines
- Work independently to deliver on expectations for the shots needed, under the direction of the Content Development Manager and/or Director of Communications
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to determine the most effective inventory / tagging system to catalog images
- Design and deliver “just in time” training sessions to prepare staff and/or volunteers to take quality candid shots (digital camera and/or mobile device)
- Provide input to the Content Development Manager to determine a feasible strategy for creating and expanding the team of volunteer photographers
- Perform routine editing duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent skills in using digital photography equipment, including accessories for lighting
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to represent Saint Paul’s in a professional manner online
- Demonstrated diligence in meeting commitments and showing a strong work ethic
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to remain alert while performing routine, repetitive tasks
- Passion for creativity and eye-appealing artistic ability

Education and Experience:
- Four to five years Photography experience. An eye-catching photography portfolio that demonstrates sufficient knowledge and techniques of digital photography and lighting
- Proven skills in action photography
- Proven professional shooting experience
- Proficient with traditional and modern equipment
- Solid knowledge of Photoshop, Lightroom or other photography specific software
- Competency in applying photographic best practices and techniques
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds on a regular basis.
