General Information
The Technology Services department is looking to hire a full-time, 12 Mo, Systems Analyst 1.
POSITION SUMMARY
Provide systems-level support of multi-user operating systems including analysis of business user needs and design, configuration and maintenance of computer systems and related responsibilities.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
Work under the administrative and close technical supervision of a unit supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
¿ Bachelor¿s degree in computer science, information systems or a related field OR an Associate's degree in computer science, information systems or a related field.
¿ Two years of information systems experience that includes analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving technical systems problems.
¿ Equivalent combinations of education and/or work experience will be considered.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
¿ Experience with SQL (Databases joins, updates, query optimization).
¿ Experience with Automated Processes.
¿ Experience with Software Testing lifecycle.
¿ Experience with the Source Control lifecycle.
¿ Experience with APIs (Rest, OneRoster)
¿ Experience with Power Platform and/or .NET.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental duties:
¿ Confer with business users regarding their information processing needs.
¿ Analyze business user needs and problems with current systems; determine if system changes or enhancements are needed.
¿ Plan and design computer systems, using techniques such as structured analysis, data modeling and information engineering; expand or modify systems to serve new purposes and/or improve work flow.
¿ Coordinate and link the computer systems within the organization to increase compatibility and the sharing of information between departments.
¿ Consult with management information systems administration to ensure that requested systems changes agree with department and district goals and objectives.
¿ Assess the usefulness of pre-developed application packages and adapt them to district needs.
¿ Perform routine application systems testing.
¿ Contribute to the District's Strong Schools, Strong Communities efforts by partnering with other staff to contribute to student achievement and the alignment and sustainability of resources
¿ Perform other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
¿ Considerable knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of information systems and data processing hardware and software.
¿ Working knowledge of the principles and techniques of systems analysis.
¿ Working knowledge of data processing requirements.
¿ Working knowledge of structured analysis, data modeling and information engineering.
¿ Working knowledge of high level programming languages, database management techniques and structured programming methods.
¿ Some knowledge of laws, ordinances, statutes and rules that pertain to the operation of information systems.
¿ Working ability to conduct analysis to determine the information processing needs of business user departments.
¿ Considerable ability to establish effective working relationships with business user departments in order to cooperatively develop information systems that meet their needs.
WORK SCHEDULE, PAY, AND BENEFITS
This is a 12-month position working 40 hours per week.
Pay range for this position is: $62,399 - $98,049
Maximum hiring step = step ten (10)
