What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Alumni Relations position at Saint Paul's Outreach?
SPO has impacted tens of thousands of lives over the past forty years, walking with young men and women as they become lifelong missionary disciples of Jesus Christ. As SPO prepares to celebrate its 40th Anniversary, we are seeking a vision-driven, self-starting, and multifaceted individual who will work with SPO’s V.P. of Advancement to establish and steward SPO’s first ever Alumni Community.
Initially, this role will be primarily focused on building the SPO Alumni Community from the ground up. We plan for this role to develop over the next 2-5 years; its focus will shift towards stewardship of the established Alumni Community through ongoing support and encouragement in their vocations within the Church and the fostering of an alumni-identity among SPO’s past and current participants and Missionaries.
Responsibilities
- Establishing SPO’s Alumni Community by developing a comprehensive, multi-phased strategy to cultivate and steward a shared identity and mission as “SPO Alumni” among past, present, and future SPO students and Missionaries.
- Stewarding SPO’s Alumni Community by developing social media and other forms of ongoing communications to keep SPO’s alumni connected and up to date with the mission.
- May Include Personal Fundraising/Mission Partner Development; this includes Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors to generate the necessary funds to cover your own salary, as well as contribute to the overall fundraising efforts of the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience
- An SPO alumni with a deep conviction for the vision and mission of SPO (preferred)
- At least 5 years of successful leadership, development, or similar experience.
- Demonstrated experience and skill in the cultivation and stewardship of relationships, as well as the building out of new systems and processes.
- Outstanding organizational and planning skills, and top-notch verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong initiative and ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of the Alumni and Advancement Teams.
- Demonstrated experience in effectively developing relationships with diverse constituencies.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently is essential.
- Committed to the work of evangelization and discipleship.
- Live as a witness to authentic Catholic Christian discipleship through a life of regular prayer, active participation in the Sacraments, and behavior consistent with the moral teachings of the Church.
- Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT, Research point or other CRMs
- SPO or similar mission experience
