The Emergency Room Technician will:
- Assist patients as needed in preparation of a medical screening. Transport patients within the emergency department or to other units. Provide emotional support and respond to patient and family inquiries within the scope of the role.
- Measure and record vital signs, perform phlebotomy and label specimens accurately, and conduct electrocardiograms (EKGs) and report findings to appropriate staff.
- Assist with wound care, including dressing changes and applying pressure dressings and perform basic medical procedures.
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the primary nurse or physician. Assist in patient stabilization and preparation for procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient environment. Follow all infection control procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines. Clean medical equipment and ensure proper storage.
- Accurately document patient information, care activities, and vital signs in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Communicate effectively with RNs, physicians, and other healthcare team members regarding patient status. Assist in the coordination of care by relaying important information to the care team.
- Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements:
- Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Technician or Certified Medical Assistant Training Program preferred.
- Previous related experience working in clinical care preferred.
- Excellent Computer Skills

- Team player and problem solver.
- Ability to positively interact at all levels of the organization and proactively supports all members of the care team and the family members
- BLS Certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association.
