The Saint Peter's Healthcare System seeks a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Sterile Processing Technician to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Instruments for Sterilization: Prepare instruments and specialty instrument trays for sterilization, adhering to hospital protocols and ensuring meticulous attention to detail.
- Prioritize and Organize Instrument Sets: Prioritize instrument sets according to departmental needs, demonstrating effective time management and organizational skills.
- Maintain Efficient Workflow: Maintain efficient workflow by collecting items from designated areas and restocking procedure carts as required.
- Decontaminate Reusable Instruments: Decontaminate reusable instruments, equipment, and supplies, adhering to strict infection control guidelines.
- Assemble Patient Equipment: Assemble and prepare patient equipment for use, guaranteeing optimal functionality and minimizing delays.
- Maintain Equipment: Operate and maintain equipment, including regular monitoring of function and performance.
- Manage Supply Chain: Fill requests for medical/surgical supplies, procedure trays, and patient equipment, ensuring seamless supply chain management.
- Prepare Linen: Prepare linen for sterilization, upholding high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Qualifications and Requirements
- One to two years of prior Central Service experience is desirable, with at least 6 months experience as SPD Tech I.
- Knowledge of Orthopedic, Vascular, Neuro, and ENT instrumentation is necessary.
- The ability to lift 25 pounds and stand for prolonged periods is required.
- Certification through a national sterile processing program recognized by New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services is mandatory.
