The Mail Clerk will:
- Responsible for sorting, processing, and distributing the hospital’s interoffice mail. Must ensure on-time delivery of outgoing mail to off-site locations by bundling mail for couriers and post office. All incoming packages will be delivered to the departments, tracking numbers will be noted, department will be notified that a package has arrived and requires pick up in person. Signature of the receipt will be recorded on the tracking sheet.
- Must maintain daily and monthly records/savings reports for Postage Machine and SandPro App as well as daily report on Business Reply mail.
- Notify department manager of equipment breakdown, low balance of funds in mail machines and need to order office supplies.
- Perform special assignments and projects as needed to support other departments.
- Additional training as needed to support the mailroom and print shop.
- Research incorrectly addressed mail and take appropriate steps to rectify the situation.
Requirements:
- Requires ability to operate a computer.
- Minimum six months of related experience.
- Work requires a two-week training program in order to become familiar with Hospital and Department policies and procedures.
- Work requires standing and walking for approximately 75% of the work time. Must have ability to perform physical tasks, such as pushing, pulling and lifting.
