Position Title: Chief Information Officer
Reports to: Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer
Supervises: Director of Enterprise Application Services, Director of User Services, and Network and Cybersecurity Services Manager
Primary Function: The CIO is responsible for developing a collaborative, integrated, and strategic direction for the deployment and support of technology at the College, Seminary, Parish, and Archabbey. The CIO must streamline operations by implementing relevant frameworks/methodologies and develop systems and services that improve customer satisfaction. Other responsibilities include providing an executive-level interface between the IT department and senior management, understanding broader business and educational requirements, and building an effective and motivated team. Lead and oversee the implementing appropriate security measures to ensure the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability of data and the systems it resides on. Lastly, the CIO must keep abreast of new/emerging technologies in order to assist with future strategic initiatives set forth by the College, Seminary, Parish, and Archabbey.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience: Master’s Degree preferred in computer science, information systems, information technology, business, or related area of study. Bachelor’s Degree required in computer science, information systems, information technology, business, or related area of study. Minimum 8-10 years of experience in directing information systems, information technologies, telecommunications, network infrastructure technologies, cellular and wireless technologies, network/database/system administration, and/or data center management.

Essential Duties
- Provide vision, leadership, management, and governance to ensure that service, support and technological means are in place to support the strategic goals and mission of the College, Seminary, Parish, and Archabbey.
- Work closely with Senior Cabinet/Council and Board of Directors to create strategic technological, educational, and business initiatives, plans, standards, and policies.
- Work collaboratively and effectively with all end users to identify problems and opportunities, formulate solutions, and maintain positive working relationships.
- Oversee the direction and management of the ERP/CRM/LMS systems, report generation, Office365, application development, academic and multimedia systems, network infrastructure/administration/cybersecurity, telecommunications, mailing/duplicating services, user training, service desk, database and system administration, Internet, website/portal support, and Cable TV.
- Utilize frameworks/methodologies and KPI measurements/metrics to maximize value, eliminate waste, maintain SLAs, and improve services.
- Perform relationship management with 3rd party system integrators and negotiate contracts that are cost effective and in the best interest of the College, Seminary, Parish, and Archabbey.
- Stay up to date on the latest cybersecurity trends/tools and implement where feasible to minimize the risk of security incidents.
- Identify and drive digital transformation including leading initiatives to adopt emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, evaluate their applicability to the College, Seminary, Parish, and Archabbey, and implement where feasible to enhance operations.
- Network through established consortiums with peer CIOs, IT staff, and faculty on a regular basis to collaborate on common academic/administrative problems and new technologies.
- Utilize effective leadership principles to motivate and develop IT staff members and student workers. Conduct performance appraisals and handle all personnel matters.
- Prepare and manage fiscal capital and operational expense budgets for IT administrative, academic, and staffing resources.
- Accountable for ensuring the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability of “personal information” by protecting against any potential threats or hazards to the security or integrity of such information including unauthorized access to, or use of, such information in a manner that creates a substantial security risk of misuse, theft, or fraud.
- Provide training opportunities for staff and faculty to build digital literacy skills.
- Effectively communicate relevant information and notices to the user community about technology related systems and services, and mission critical IT issues.
- Assist with the development of College related policies and procedures.
- Serve as a responsible and professional member of the President’s Cabinet and Council by participating in College, Seminary, Parish, and Archabbey related meetings, events, functions, and other activities as directed.
