The News Reporter(s) are responsible for producing one to two news stories for every issue of The Xavierite.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesReports on all SXU and local area news eventsProduces one-two articles per weekWrites stories following the pyramid news writing styleEnsures all articles are written accurately, fairly, and with as little biased as possible following journalist standards and ethics.Is a leading member of the Student Media Street TeamAttends general staff meetingMeets weekly with Section EditorMaintain weekly-posted office hours in The Xavierite office (4 hours per week).Attends news writing workshop held by Director of Student MediaAssists with the layout of the sectionQualifications- MUST BE A STUDENT AT SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY - FEDERAL WORK STUDY REQUIRED FEDERAL WORK STUDY REQUIREDExperience in journalism, communication, or English preferred.Additional ExpectationsWe inspire success by working together to provide meaningful, personalized service in a spirit of excellence.
