The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, installations, and repairs on machinery, equipment, building structures, and related systems. The role focuses on ensuring operational efficiency and safety in a manufacturing environment through regular inspections, troubleshooting, and documentation of maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
Inspections & Preventive Maintenance:
Conduct daily inspections of tools, processing lines, auxiliary equipment, and buildings to identify defects or malfunctions.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and document completed tasks.
Repairs & Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and piping systems.
Dismantle defective equipment and install new or repaired parts to meet operational standards.
Utility & System Maintenance:
Maintain essential utility systems (heat, electric, gas, water, air) required for continuous plant operations.
Assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
Administrative & Coordination Tasks:
Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies necessary for ongoing operations.
Maintain records of planned and completed maintenance and input work orders into the CMMS system.
Collaborate with management to schedule maintenance activities and resolve issues.
Technical Documentation & Communication:
Read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, operating instructions, and technical documents.
Communicate maintenance findings and improvement recommendations effectively to management and team members.
Additional Duties:
Assist with rigging machinery for installation or removal as needed.
Fabricate and implement improvement solutions to enhance equipment and building performance.
Qualifications
Experience & Education:
High School Diploma or GED required.
3-5 years of relevant maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Technical Skills:
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
Proficient in using measurement tools such as tape measures and micrometers.
Basic math skills (working with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals) are essential.
Physical & Interpersonal Requirements:
Ability to lift and move weights between 15 and 50 pounds.
Capability to stand, walk, climb, bend, reach, stoop, and perform manual tasks for extended periods.
Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and timely issue resolution.
Work Schedule Flexibility:
- Ability to work various shifts (8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts) with potential night, overtime, and weekend work as required.
