This individual is responsible for researching and resolving coding, billing and pending issues using a variety of tools while maintaining strict compliance with all applicable guidelines. This person is also responsible for client satisfaction via the auditing of claims and payments processed on behalf of the client. This person manages audits of data entry and billing process and works with the offshore team to educate and increase collection of accounts outstanding.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Client Relationship Supervisor and offshore team on issues which prevent client satisfaction.
- Audit accounts data, verification of CPT codes, ICD9/10CM codes, procedure codes, medical record request/delays using a variety of tools including Biscom and SFTP.
- Complete audit sheet daily for review by the Revenue Cycle Manager.
- Work with Client Relationship Supervisor to research and resolve client complaints using a variety of methods including discussions with the offshore team/manager and client.
- Informs offshore team of issues that may require additional training and seek corrective action based upon issue.
- Team player and work well with offshore team.
- Educate client on new updates regarding coding and claim submission to increase billable services and efficiencies.
- Travel and make client visits daily within assigned territory.
- Validation and audit of offshore team for assigned clients. Note follow up as per policy as well as management notification for excessive errors i.e. over 10% of claims audited.
- Scanning and secondary claims submission as well as Workman’s’ Compensation and Motor Vehicle accident claims submission experience.
- Research and correct invalid or incorrect patient demographic information such as invalid phone number or insurance policy number or missing data for claim completion and informs offshore team on a daily basis. Updates system as needed.
- Assist with a variety of special projects.
- Meet or exceeds production standards with regards to chart auditing, secondary and specialty claims submission
Education Necessary for Position:
- Medical Billing courses or certification preferred.
- College degree preferred
Experience & Skills Necessary for Position:
- 3-5 years of experience performing medical billing & coding
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft software products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with a variety of medical billing software including E-Clinical Works.
- Knowledge of medical insurance, medical terminology, disease processes and medical administrative procedures.
- Surgery billing experience.
- Familiarity with outsourcing.
- Willingness to travel and visit client accounts on a frequent basis.
- Customer Relationship Management experience, excellent communication skills, ability to successfully work independently and as part of a team; as well as a professional appearance and attitude
Work Environment:
Work is performed onsite at a customer site. From time to time, at the discretion of the supervisor, work may be completed from home.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
