Affholder Construction has an opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our tunnel construction team in Austin, TX. The Sr. Project Manager has responsibility for overseeing and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local and company rules, regulations, and programs as they relate to the successful completion of the project. Oversee the planning, implementation and tracking of project activities.
Responsibilities:
- Using a cooperative approach, emphasizing a professional manner and team environment; builds and maintains relationships with employees, clients, engineers, local authorities and subcontractors.
- Communicate and ensure proper coordination between project safety manager, project superintendents, project surveyor to plan and execute the project activities in a safe and efficient manner.
- Company lead for project meetings with client, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Reviews quality, safety, scheduled project progress, submittal requirements, and material deliveries to ensure attainment of project objectives, schedule completion, and timely delivery.
- Update project management system regularly with actual job costs and cost commitments to accurately reflect the financial performance of the project.
- Responsible for month-end financial reviews, including revenue recognition and job cost review, equipment cost review, project cost management, billing preparation, and operational expense review.
- Monitors project staffing requirements including minority hiring requirements and reports concerns to human resources in a timely fashion.
- Administer project meetings with Superintendent, Field Engineer, and appropriate subcontractors to make necessary changes to finalize work schedule.
- Secure project submittals and critical project documents required by the specifications and/or client. Perform field investigations to assess project quality, crew performance, and adherence to safety requirements.
- Direct and oversee construction project from conception to completion while monitoring compliance with safety and contract specifications.
- Oversee, delegate, and monitor project staff and field supervision performance on assigned projects to ensure that the project is completed within the budget, schedule and quality standards.
- Direct project meetings with client, subcontractors, and suppliers to review quality, safety, scheduled project progress, submittal requirements, and material deliveries to ensure attainment of project objectives, schedule completion.
Qualifications:
- BS degree with a concentration in Business, Engineering or other related field required, direct experience in a similar position may substitute for educational requirement. Licensed PE
- 10 years of experience in a similar position in underground construction.
- Excellent internal and external customer service skills required.
- Experience with large scale (>$ 500 Million) infrastructure related construction and government funded projects preferred.
- Must have a solid understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and View Point software systems.
- Experience with project scheduling utilizing Microsoft Project or other project management systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and work in a team environment.
- Minimum 15 years management experience required.
