Job Title: Alteryx Developer
Location: Boston, Massachusetts (Day-1 Onsite)
Duration: Long-term
Key Responsibilities:
1. Alteryx Workflow Development & Automation
- Design, develop, and optimize Alteryx workflows, macros, and analytic apps for ETL and data transformation.
- Implement data cleansing, validation, and enrichment techniques within workflows.
- Develop scheduled workflows in Alteryx Server to automate ETL and data preparation tasks.
- Build Alteryx Gallery Apps for self-service data analysis and automation.
- Use Alteryx Connect and Promote to manage metadata and advanced analytics models (if applicable).
2. Data Integration & ETL Development
- Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources, including:
o Databases: Snowflake, SQL Server, SAP HANA, Oracle, PostgreSQL.
o Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud.
o APIs & Web Services: REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, XML.
o Files: Excel, CSV, Parquet, JSON, XML.
- Design efficient ETL pipelines to support analytics, dashboards, and reports.
- Optimize data workflows to improve performance, scalability, and reusability.
3. Advanced Analytics & Scripting
- Develop predictive models and statistical analysis using Alteryx predictive tools.
- Utilize Python and R scripts within Alteryx for advanced analytics.
- Implement machine learning models (if applicable) and integrate them with AI/ML platforms.
- Perform data profiling and anomaly detection to identify inconsistencies in datasets.
4. Performance Tuning & Optimization
- Improve workflow execution time by optimizing queries, caching, and data processing techniques.
- Implement best practices for efficient data transformation and storage.
- Leverage In-DB (In-Database) processing to execute transformations at the database level for performance gains.
- Reduce manual efforts through automation and reusable Alteryx components.
5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with business analysts, data engineers, and data scientists to gather and analyze requirements.
- Provide technical support and training to business users on Alteryx workflows.
- Document ETL processes, workflow logic, and best practices for knowledge sharing.
- Participate in code reviews and peer programming sessions to improve workflow quality.
6. Alteryx Server Administration & Deployment
- Deploy and manage workflows on Alteryx Server for enterprise-wide access.
- Configure user roles, permissions, and automation schedules in Alteryx Server.
- Monitor server performance and troubleshoot failed workflows or job execution issues.
- Set up version control and workflow governance to ensure compliance with data security policies.
Required Skills & Experience:
Technical Skills:
- 3-5 years of experience in Alteryx Designer, Alteryx Server, and Alteryx Gallery.
- Strong ETL and data integration experience across multiple databases and file types.
- Proficiency in SQL for query optimization and performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake, SAP HANA, SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
- Experience in REST API integration using Alteryx tools and scripting.
- Knowledge of Python, R, or VBA for advanced scripting and automation.
- Experience with Alteryx In-DB (In-Database) tools to optimize large-scale data processing.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik) for integrated reporting solutions.
- Exposure to Control-M or other workflow scheduling tools is a plus.
- Experience with Alteryx Promote and Alteryx Connect for metadata and model management (optional).

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Must be a US Citizen ONLY. Dual citizenship other than US and work visas are not eligible.
- Alteryx Certification (Alteryx Designer Core, Advanced, or Expert) is highly preferred.
- Experience with big data platforms (Hadoop, Spark, Databricks) is a plus.
- Knowledge of AWS/Azure cloud data services (S3, Redshift, Synapse, etc.). Prior experience in Alteryx migration projects (from legacy ETL tools to Alteryx).
