JOB SUMMARY
The Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) Manager is responsible for ensuring implementation, and compliance of all applicable food safety and quality programs to ensure the quality, safety, and regulatory compliance of the operation. The FSQA Manager is the SQF Practitioner.

RESPONSIBILITIES

SQF/ Audit/ Compliance Responsibilities

  • Ensures that Sakuma Bros. Processing, Inc. complies with all applicable food safety and regulatory requirements under local, state and federal law.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Company’s SQF program ensuring the Company maintains its systems and program to meet continuous audit criteria.
  • Facilitate preparation and completion of applicable internal, customer, regulatory and third-party audits and inspections.
  • Develop and validate training programs relating to Third-Party GFSI requirements, sanitation, microbiology, pest control, allergens, HACCP, GMP’s, and internal SOP’s.
  • Support operations and quality personnel in the application and compliance monitoring of SQF, environmental, health, safety and quality requirements
  • Identify conditions and practices that could lead to food safety non-compliance, poor product quality, worker injury, or business interruption.
  • Ensure food safety and quality records are controlled, accurate, complete, and current.

Quality Responsibilities

  • Ensure the quality and safety of all products and materials used in production.
  • Verifies product meets customer and regulatory product specifications.
  • Interact regularly with customers, regulatory agencies, auditors, and industry groups.
  • Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the Company’s Environmental Monitoring, and Finished Product Microbiological testing programs.
  • Manage food safety and quality incidents, complaints and non-conformances while working closely with all departments cross-functionally to collaboratively identify, root-cause and solve quality opportunities and aid in developing processes to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure proper management of held product, storage condition, and quality of labeling, packaging, and shipping operations.
  • Responsible for approval of all finished products and releases producing timely Certificates of Analysis.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Biology, Business Administration, or similar field, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a managerial role.
  • Relevant, in-depth knowledge of third-party GFSI criteria, HACCP, GMP’s, microbiology, and food processing practices.
  • Successful experience completing GFSI, organic, Kosher, and internal audits.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends dependent on production schedules.
  • Strong proficiency using Microsoft Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Multi-tasking skills are a must.

ENVIORNMENTAL CONDITIONS

  • Requires working in cold manufacturing environment.
  • Requires occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Agriculture: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Food safety: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Management: 3 years (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

  • Burlington, WA 98233: Relocate before starting work (Required)

Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
