This role will drive food safety and quality culture, enhance compliance through process optimization, and strengthen leadership capabilities. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in ensuring each site upholds the highest FSQA standards through training, standardized procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
Strengthen FSQA Culture and Training
- Ensure all Salad and Go CK employees understand the importance of food safety and quality beyond regulatory requirements.
- Enhance training and demonstration of knowledge protocols.
- Implement a program and KPIs to validate training effectiveness.
- Coordinate the specialized training program to cover topics such as PCQI, Intentional Adulteration, and HACCP.
- Support transitions from manual and semi-automated compliance systems to engineering controls to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and real-time monitoring.
- Partner with Continuous Improvement, Engineering, and Technology teams to design and implement automated compliance solutions.
- Improve data integrity and analysis capabilities, allowing FSQA teams to efficiently validate program effectiveness and detect defects in real-time.
- Ensure enhanced consistency and traceability across all FSQA compliance efforts, reducing variability and potential food safety risks.
- Establish a standardized compliance framework for all manufacturing sites, ensuring consistent execution of FSQA protocols.
- Drive accountability for food safety and quality by creating Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor compliance effectiveness.
- Implement cross-site reporting systems to provide leadership with real-time insights into FSQA performance.
- Ensure a proactive approach to preventing non-compliance issues, rather than reacting to problems after they arise.
- Act as a liaison between corporate FSQA leadership and on-site FSQA Managers, ensuring alignment on initiatives and compliance goals.
- Foster collaboration between FSQA, Operations, Engineering, and People & Culture to improve food safety and quality programs.
- Lead by example in creating a culture of continuous improvement, prioritizing food safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Safety, Food Science, Public Health, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 7 years of experience in related field is preferred.
- Experience in USDA-FSIS regulated products and industry best practice is required.
- Knowledge of the FDA regulatory framework is preferred.
- Competency with digital manufacturing technologies and continuous improvement tools (LEAN/Six Sigma) is preferred.
- Previous people leadership roles with multi-shift direct reports.
- Progressive leadership roles within quality organizations with proven track record of success.
- Good leadership and communication skills with demonstrated team building success.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities at one time using effective organizational skills and judgment in an environment of frequently changing circumstances.
- Excellent proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite Products.
- Experience with Statistical Process Control analysis in food manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with BRC, FSMA, HACCP, HARPC, SQF, FDA, USDA
- Experience in Produce and RTE Food manufacturing environment.
- Extensive knowledge in computer systems, excel, macros, pivots, access, Tableau and applications
- Extensive knowledge in microbiology/chemistry of food products
- Work can be performed within a manufacturing plant environment with noise, extreme temperatures, and significant movement of powered equipment, people and conveyors (may depend on the role).
- Work conditions are typical of an office & plant environment.
- This role requires 10% domestic travel.
- Frequent weekend work may be required.
- Position may require the physical agility of lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Position may require frequent and/or infrequent bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, stretching/reaching, use hands or fingers, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, controls and standing/walking on concrete flooring.
- Position may require the physical ability to stand/walk for Greater than 4 hours
