What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concrete Pump Operator position at Salas Construction Group?
Job Summary
A Concrete Pump Operator is responsible for the operation of a Concrete Pump in the safest manner possible. His/her safety along with the safety of others around him/her are the No. 1 priority. The operator’s day starts at the yard where pumps are parked, from there, following a predetermined schedule, the operator will drive to and from jobsites, operate the pump, clean and grease it to maintain in good operation condition. Flexibility and excellent communication skills are paramount as schedules may adjust based on client’s needs. It is expected that the Operator be a top representative of Wake Pumping and maintain a professional behavior.
Qualifications & Responsibilities
- Valid CDL license, documents and drug free testing as required by law
- Operate and drive the pump truck in a safe and lawful manner
- Good communicator, available to take calls, read a calendar schedule and coordinate with dispatcher as needed
- Maintained a clean pump, washed and free of concrete and grease. Maintain pump system free of concrete
- Travel to various job sites, all in town, no out of town work. Home every night and no overnight pours
- Fill out appropriate job tickets and report to office. Company credit card provided, accompanying receipts must be submitted so reconciliation may match with bank statement.
- Ability to pickup heavy equipment, 40lbs or more
- Perform rotation of pipes on a quarterly basis or as necessary depending on wear and tear
- Perform light repair of pumps; some maintenance is required. Know pump well enough to recognize problems and report them to mechanic
- Work a rotation Saturday schedule and overtime as necessary
- Report any accidents and/or unsafe job conditions to supervisor immediately
- Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with clients
- List is not all inclusive, operator may be required to perform other job related duties as requested by supervisor or demanded by the job
Requisites
- Valid CDL license, clean driving record, medical card and pass a drug test
- Experience operating a pump truck, 3 years preferred
- Basic pump mechanics to maintain pump in good operating condition. Must be able to troubleshoot minor problems
- Must be able to read, understand and implement equipment and safety manuals
- Must maintain a respectful attitude with everyone

Salary : $62,000 - $90,000
