Structural Engineer (2-5 yr)
Our office in Lakewood, CO is looking for a Structural Engineer to design and manage commercial building projects, and to grow our existing dynamic team. We specialize in the design of commercial buildings including schools, healthcare, police and fire stations, office buildings, worship spaces, industrial facilities, petrochemical control buildings, luxury resorts, and more. Our design professionals support projects all over the US and Canada and integrate with multi-discipline engineering teams on a wide array of projects. Specific duties will include:
- Full life-cycle project design from kick-off to construction document production and construction oversight
- Join and lead project teams in or Building Design and Non-building structures studios
- Responsible for producing engineering documents such as reports, calculations, and drawings that are complete and technically accurate
- Responsible for assisting clients regarding technical design issues, coordination of document preparation, and submittals
- Utilize design software such as RISA, Enercalc, RAM, Bluebeam, and REVIT to produce construction drawings
Successful candidates will possess the following:
- ABET accredited bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil or Structural Engineering
- Registered EIT
- 2 to 5 years of experience in consulting structural engineering with commercial building focus
- Experience in projects of similar breadth and depth of structural engineering services offered by Salas O'Brien
- The desire to work towards the Company's goal of excellent and timely service.
- Experience in the design of concrete, masonry, steel, timber and foundations is required. Experience in the following is a plus:
- Registered Professional Engineer
- Cold-formed Steel
- Seismic design categories D, E and F
- Extreme wind loading
- Blast-resistant structures
- Strong time management skills and self-starter a must
- Ability to learn from, and work with other team members
