Job Summary:
The BIM Manager will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes and technologies throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires a strong understanding of AEC industry standards, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
In this role, you will
- Lead the integration of BIM processes into project workflows.
- Develop and maintain BIM execution plans for projects.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and client-specific requirements.
- Facilitate communication between project teams.
- Conduct regular coordination meetings to address BIM-related issues.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve conflicts and streamline workflows.
- Oversee the creation, organization, and management of 3D models throughout the project lifecycle
- Conduct clash detection analysis regularly on multiple projects and distribute, assign, and track clash resolutions
- Implement model quality control measures
- Provide training and support to project team members on BIM tools and processes.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in BIM technology.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the organization.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with BIM standards and protocols.
- Implement best practices for model consistency and accuracy.
- Monitor and report on the overall health of BIM processes on projects.
- Demonstrate a high standard of professionalism and customer service.
Requirements:
- You are highly motivated, self-driven, and capable of working independently
- Proven experience in a BIM management role within the AEC industry
- Experience executing multi-discipline designs in an integrated approach
- 5-10 years of industry experience
- Associate Degree in a related engineering technology discipline or equivalent work experience.
Skills/abilities:
- Design Software:
- Revit, Plant 3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks, ReCap and BIM360/ACC
- Bluebeam, Inventor, and Vault a plus
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Setup & manage Revit project templates
- Setup & manage Navisworks project files
- Ability to read and understand orthographic drawings
- Ability to interpret and apply technical specifications
- Ability to interpret and ensure conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures
- Ability to work with point clouds as part of the design process is a requirement for this position
- Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills both internally and with clients
- Good attention to detail and the ability to recognize discrepancies
Location: Columbus, Ohio but can be remote
Travel: Work will involve travel to clients' facilities; up to 15% of the time.
