Job Summary
The Process Engineer will support the delivery of 2D and 3D engineering & design packages for projects from various markets and industries. We focus on the heavy industrial market – cement & lime plants, paper mills, chemical plants, sand & aggregate plants, steel mills, oil & gas processing, building products (roofing, asphalt, insulation, gypsum; etc.) and other manufacturing plants. This role involves development of Process & Instrument Diagrams coupled with process engineering design work, collaborating with other disciplines, participation in quality reviews, and client interactions.
Essential Functions And Duties
- Grow, learn, and innovate.
- Ability to create Process & Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs) for various process systems.
- Design, optimize, and manage industrial processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Evaluate and develop methods for separating components of gases and liquids within various process systems.
- Ensure process systems comply with safety and quality standards.
- Ensure development of consistent and high-quality project deliverables.
- Able to demonstrate a high standard of professionalism and customer service.
- Develop and refine P&ID methodologies, tools, and standards.
- Meet critical deadlines and demonstrate the ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
- Stay abreast of relevant industry developments and technology advancements.
Requirements
- You have a growth mindset and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Familiar with process engineering industry standards of practice.
- 1-3 years of industry experience with a manufacturing company, engineering firm, or construction firm
- Bachelor’s Science – Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Proven work experience as a process engineer.
Skills/abilities
- Engineering & Design Software:
- AutoCAD
- Autodesk Plant-3D experience is a major plus
- Navisworks, and Bluebeam
- BIM360 experience a plus
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to interpret P&ID legends and symbols
- Ability to read and understand orthographic drawings
- Ability to create 2D orthographic drawings from models for communication of a design
- Ability to interpret and apply technical specifications
- Ability to interpret and ensure conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to recognize discrepancies
Location: Richardson, TX
Travel: Work will involve travel to clients' facilities, usually local area; up to 5% of the time.
