What are the responsibilities and job description for the Counter Sales position at SALAZAR MACHINE AND STEEL, INC.?
Our growing and innovative company is looking for an experienced Counter Sales Representative to professionally help and assist customer's either in person or by phone/email in locating the products and services they need as provided by the firm. Products are to include industrial supplies, power transmission components, steel sales, and industrial machinery. This is to also include assisting with machine shop and metal fabrication repairs and projects. Responsibilities
Coordinates all work orders/projects for completion both in the shop and when in the field, using a work order system.
Coordinates & orders request for shop equipment/tools, equipment repairs, consumable shop supplies & materials
Performs inside sales and order request by customers
Accountable for collecting payments from customers and balancing the cash drawer
Performs inventory mgmt. (i.e.: ordering stock, creating & receiving PO’s, pricing, invoicing, shipping & receiving, etc.)
Responsible for coordinating all deliveries
Collects daily employee hours and prepares weekly payroll report for management
Inspects all final work completed before delivering to the customer ensuring work meets or surpasses the quality level of the firm.
Receives all incoming calls and forwards sales inquiries to management
Performs research and tracking of specialty products and equipment
Completes other clerical task as needed (i.e.: organizing & filing files, ordering office supplies, etc.)
Qualifications
• Knowledge of various welding techniques (i.e.: MIG, TIG, Stick welding, & others)
• Knowledge of various metals (i.e.: mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, etc.)
• Knowledge of welding equipment (i.e.: torches, plasma cutters, grinders, etc.)
• Knowledge of metal fabrication equipment (i.e.: shear, brake press, iron worker, pipe benders, hyd. presses, band saw, chop saws, power hand tools, etc.)
• Some knowledge of processing machinery a plus (i.e.: conveyors, brush machines, elevators, sizers, etc.)
• Must be able to read & write in English fluently, as well as the ability to interpret shop drawings, and calculate measurements, angles, material lists, etc.
• Ability to set directives and instructions both in written and oral form
• 3 years of experience in supervising others and projects
• 3 years of clerk experience in purchasing, shipping & receiving, inventory mgmt., & sales
• Bilingual individual preferred (English & Spanish)
• High school diploma and some post-secondary schooling
• Proficient with office equipment (i.e.: computers, faxes, copiers, etc.)
• Must have a valid driving license
• Physical requirements include lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, kneeling, and crouching,
