We are looking for a teacher who is committed to reaching all students, raising achievement through a rigorous and relevant curriculum, and supporting a school culture of excellence and joyful learning. This employee is a member of our Math and Science teams.
The ideal candidate has experience with standards-based grading and is committed to raising student achievement through an integration of rigorous college preparatory classes with service to the community. The Science teacher will be responsible for the following in addition to other duties as assigned by their manager: Working with and for Students: Aligning curricular standards with state guidelines Documenting annual, unit, and lesson plans correlated to state standards Monitoring student progress through standards-based assessments Teaching 4 classes a day Analyzing student data Differentiating instruction Supporting, planning, and co-leading Service-Learning projects Advising students through daily Connections class (homeroom) Input academic and behavioral data on the school data management system Analyze student data and monitor student progress through standards-based assessments Working with and for Families: Participate in Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences three times per year Communicate regularly with families about academic and social progress Working with and for Colleagues Build and maintain a strong school culture centered on student achievement Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the success of the school mission Participate in weekly professional development sessions Participate in weekly grade-level team meetings Inputting academic and behavioral data into the school data management system Who You Are: You are a skilled educator with at least 2 years of experience teaching any STEM courses. Experience teaching high school Science courses. You have experience implementing a culturally responsive curriculum.
