We are looking for an AVP, Branch Manager who will have responsibility for our Methuen, MA branch. In this role, you will manage assigned branch personnel; plan, organize and administer all branch activities to effectively provide customers with quality customer service and bank services in conformance with established Bank policies, procedures, and applicable regulations; and actively participate in programs to develop new business.
How you will accomplish this:
- Manage the Retail staff in the Methuen, MA branch including ensuring customer service standards are in line with Bank goals, ensuring proper staffing and training, coaching and giving performance feedback, making employment-related recommendations (hiring/promotions/salary, etc.), resolving issues, guiding and advising staff on the more complex phases of work, and coordinating the activities of the branch with other Bank departments
- Actively participate in external programs to develop new business
- Oversee and implement marketing campaigns
- Approve Medallion Guarantee following all regulatory and bank guidelines
- Responsible for decision-making process of overdrafts and returns, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
- Maintain responsibility and development of the administration of Bank policies; ensure effective implementation of all changes to Bank policies and procedures
- Oversee and reinforce Bank security
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory and compliance policies including completion of regulatory and sales training for all staff members
- Ensure the branch’s physical appearance is appropriate including implementing effective merchandising and maintenance of the facility
- Represent the Bank while actively participating in community service projects, including a minimum of one Board seat within the communities we serve
- Develop and foster customer relationships within the Bank and externally
- Serve on Bank committees as requested
- Collaborate with Deposit Operations on system updates and workflow improvements
- Perform any other duties as needed/assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of prior branch management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong working knowledge of bank operations and bank products
- Knowledge of banking regulations, including compliance
- Strong knowledge of business associations, trusts, estates, and the associated legal and liability risks
- Demonstrated interpersonal and people management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer and banking applications skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Demonstrated success in sales referrals and referrals of alternative investment products, as appropriate
