Role:

Serves an integral role as member of Senior Staff and Leadership Cabinet. Provides overall leadership and direction for Salem Community College (SCC) student recruitment/enrollment, admissions, retention, advising, student services (to include financial aid, EOF, ADA, Title IX, Registrar) and institutional communication and marketing. Responsible for developing a comprehensive enrollment management program built upon qualitative data analysis, strategic decision making and an ethos of continuous improvement while fostering a culture that emphasizes professional personal relationships, transparency, communication, flexibility, collaboration and administrative coordination of all areas of responsibility.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

ENROLLMENT/ADMISSIONS

  • Provides creative and energetic leadership in the development, execution, documentation and ongoing renewal/revision of strategic planning, as well as oversight, monitoring and reporting with respect to student recruitment/enrollment, admissions, financial aid and student support programs.
  • Provides administrative oversight for the continuous improvement of enrollment and retention/advising efforts in cooperation with the entire college community, to include faculty, student services and relevant administrative areas.
  • Participates directly in student recruitment/enrollment by engaging with influencers (parents, church leaders, county school leaders, etc.) to advance student attraction and attendance (or assuring appropriate SCC representation) at relevant events (college fairs, local conferences, county school leadership sessions, county business/civic events.
  • Administers all recruitment activities. Oversees all aspects of communications with K 12 partners, particularly all Salem County high schools.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of a Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) plan. Engage all necessary stakeholders (including but not limited to the President, Senior Staff and Enrollment Management team) in the planning process. Evaluate the plans effectiveness annually (or as defined in the plan) and make adjustments, as needed.

MARKETING

  • Administratively leads marketing initiatives that advance the Colleges reputation, brand and branding. Directs integrated marketing program that includes multi-media advertising (social media, print, TV, radio and direct mail), publications and electronic communication, including the website.
  • Works with Web and Digital Media Specialist and Director of Marketing and Communications to ensure the college is contemporary, timely, accurately and creatively represented in the website and in other digital/social media utilizing existing and emerging technologies in support of overall enrollment planning and achievement.

ADMINISTRATIVE

  • Serves as member of Senior Staff and Presidents Leadership Cabinet.
  • Develops and manages the Divisional budget(s).
  • Reviews and evaluates direct report staff and coordinates/oversees same for indirect reports and staff supporting direct reports
  • Develops and administers policies and processes pertaining to the overall admissions and student record keeping function of the College including, with requisite confidentiality, class rosters, student applications, permanent records, transcripts, credits, grading, and withdrawal.
  • Provides oversight for division and ensures that divisional staff provide high levels of customer service and adhere to the Colleges Customer Service Pledge. Assures timely responses to and resolution of student inquiries and complaints.
  • Oversees and reports on appropriate special groups such as International Students, NJ Stars, Foundation Scholars Dual Credit, Dual Enrollment and Academy Programs.
  • Serves as the Colleges chief FERPA officer.
  • Serves as Title IX Coordinator and Affirmative Action Officer.
  • Recommends and administers policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Remains up to date and knowledgeable with relevant state and federal legislation, regulation, guidance
  • Actively participants in relevant NJCCC Affinity Groups

Knowledge and Skills:

Education Masters degree in a student services related area, education, business or other related field.

Experience Five years of college administrative experience required primarily in the areas of student records, registration, admissions or other support areas. Three years of supervisory experience. Experience in budget and student services planning at the college level is required.

Interpersonal Skills Ability to work effectively with faculty, administrators, staff and external constituencies.

Technical Skills Working knowledge of current and emerging computer

hardware and software, including relevant ERP systems and all Microsoft Office products.

Other Skills Familiarity with NJ Transfer and other transfer initiatives. Knowledge of Salem Community College dual admissions agreements. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse academic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff. Competency in the utilization of computer technology used for communication, data gathering and reporting. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements The work is mostly sedentary; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. Travel is required.

Work Environment Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office. Occasional evening and weekends required. Travel necessary.
