Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Design, implementation, and support for existing and new Azure network infrastructure and local network infrastructure to include but not limited to Azure networking (BGP, Express Route, Site to Site tunnels), LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and other network technologies.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Azure networking.
- Cloud Architecture as it relates to Microsoft public and private peering, VPC peering, SG, NACL, route-table updates.
- Maintain VPN tunnels using Palo Alto and Cisco ASA solutions.
- Subject Matter Expert for all Cloud Networking and must be able to lead projects as they relate to Cloud/On Prem Networking design and implementation.
- Experience working on projects with a cross-functional team to create best-practice private/public-cloud networking environments.
- Ability to perform packet captures and analysis to solve complex network routing and application traffic issues.
- Implements complex networking solutions (e.g., enterprise-level strategic systems, revising the existing design for a secure introduction) to meet business objectives. Monitors deployed network to ensure high availability and ensure that the aggregation and analysis of log data represents appropriate detective controls based on risk.
- Designs, implements, and maintains the bank’s networking infrastructure at all locations.
- Monitors network activity for anomalies or possible security breaches. Analyzes security incidents and escalates the events as appropriate.
- Mentor and lead more junior Network Engineers.
Requirements:
- 8 years of experience as a Network Engineer
- 5 years of recent hands-on experience working with cloud technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure
- Extensive experience building/supporting/troubleshooting Azure/AWS Cloud Networks. Certifications preferred.
- Understanding of Express Route/Direct Connect - Maintain routing, security, load balancing, front door, and other standing cloud-based network services.
- Experience with Cloud Architecture as it relates to Microsoft public/private peering. VPC peering, SG, NACL, route-table updates.
- Palo Alto / Cisco / Fortinet experience in both an on premise and cloud architecture as well as a strong understanding of Global Protect VPN is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge in configuring/troubleshooting Cisco routers/switches (Catalyst/Nexus)
- Experience mentoring and leading more junior Network Engineers
- Effective written and verbal skills
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent from four-year or technical school; or ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Microsoft and Cisco Certifications are preferred but not required. All certifications must be maintained and current.
