Your Role With Us:
Salem Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Operating Room Nurse to join our team. This role involves delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care in a dynamic surgical environment. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting thorough patient assessments and addressing medical, social, and cultural factors.
- Implementing age-appropriate care plans, prioritizing interventions, and responding effectively to emergencies.
- Coordinating with patients, families, and healthcare teams to develop treatment plans and ensure smooth transitions of care.
- Documenting assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately.
- Utilizing strong communication skills to provide updates, anticipate needs, and collaborate with team members.
- Demonstrating leadership, including evidence-based practice, staff supervision, and decision-making.
- Ensuring a safe environment by adhering to infection control, equipment safety, and unit policies.
- Managing resources efficiently, including supply inventory and cross-training to maintain productivity.

Background/Expertise:
- Graduate of a Diploma RN Program and at least 5 years of acute care RN experience ADN, BSN, non-nursing bachelor’s degree with MSN, or MSN; preferred for West Valley Hospital. ADN graduate with less than 5 years of acute care experience required to sign agreement to complete BSN or MSN within 3 years of hire. Note: Employees hired as an ADN prior to October 2011 are not required to obtain BSN or MSN.
- Minimum of one (1) year of RN Staff Nurse experience required, acute care RN Staff Nurse experience preferred.
- Basic Life Support certification required.
- Current unencumbered licensure to practice nursing as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon.
- Association of perioperative Registered Nurses preferred.
