Schedule: Saturdays & Sundays: 8:00am-8:30pm; Wednesdays: 11:00am-7:30pm; Fridays: 7:30am-4:00pm

Your Role With Us:
As a Medical Interpreter with Salem Health, you will assist in the important role of patient care by providing and coordinating language interpretation between patient, family and health care provider(s). In this role, you will utilize your unique customer care skills and excellent communication abilities to facilitate understanding between medical staff, patients and their families.

Background/Expertise:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred.
- Certified Health Care Interpreter - Must be registered as a Qualified or Certified Healthcare Interpreter with Oregon Health Authority, or, to hold national certification (CCHI or National Board) and able to get registered with OHA within 90 days.
- Required to complete all necessary education and processes to maintain certification.
- registered as a Certified Healthcare Interpreter with Oregon Health Authority. Exception may be made for hard-to-fill Medical Interpreter positions where qualification is required, and certification preferred within twelve (12) months of hire Preferred.
- Formal interpreting experience required or the completion of a state approved health care interpreter training course Preferred.
- Health care experience desirable, particularly medical terminology.
- Some assignments require current Oregon driver’s license, dependable automobile and current personal auto insurance coverage.
