Your Role With Us:
1. Regulatory Compliance: Ensures Sterile Processing operations align with industry standards and regulatory requirements (State Department of Health, TJC, IAHCSMM, AAMI, AORN).
2. Performance Improvement: Develops and implements quality improvement initiatives, encouraging staff participation.
3. Education & Development: Stays updated on industry advancements and assists in training staff to maintain competency.
4. Staff Evaluation: Provides feedback on staff performance and ensures proper training for competency gaps.
5. Communication & Collaboration: Maintains active communication with medical, patient care, and interdepartmental teams.
6. Quality & Infection Control: Works with leadership to oversee infection control measures and quality assurance.
7. Documentation & Compliance: Ensures proper documentation, investigates discrepancies, and implements corrective actions.
8. Audit & Quality Assurance: Conducts audits, internal assessments, and quality checks to maintain high operational standards.
9. Lean Process & Root Cause Analysis: Participates in process improvement initiatives and conducts root cause analyses for issues in Sterile Processing.
10. Operational Oversight: Ensures daily tasks and workflows are completed correctly and efficiently.

Background/Expertise:
Education:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Licenses, Certifications & Registrations:
- CRCST or CSPDT certification required
- Certified Instrument Specialist or Certified Surgical Instrument Specialist certification preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years’ direct experience in sterile processing with emphasis leadership experience. Five (5) years of experience preferred. Previous education and compliance experience required. Strongly prefer minimum two (2) years’ experience within statistical and analytical skills through data collecting, organizing, and analyzing.
Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of infection control, decontamination and sterilization techniques.
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Working knowledge of AORN standards, OSHA guidelines, and in-depth knowledge of TJC, IAHSCMM, and AAMI/ANSI standards is strongly preferred
