Your Role With Us:
Join Salem Health as an Operating Room Assistant and play a vital role in ensuring efficient surgical operations. Key responsibilities include preparing and stocking OR rooms with necessary supplies and equipment, coordinating with SPD for sterile instruments, and assisting with opening supplies and maintaining aseptic technique. You'll support surgical teams during procedures, transport specimens and blood products, and help with room turnover by cleaning, organizing instruments, and managing waste. Additional duties include maintaining specialty carts, storing equipment, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodology. Background/Expertise:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Basic Life Support certification required.
- Previous hospital experience desirable/preferred.
- Previous experience in peri-operative area desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology desirable.
