Your Role With Us :
As a Patient Access Specialist I, you play a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care at our outpatient rehab facilities. Your responsibilities will include ensuring smooth scheduling, accurate insurance verification, and effective communication, all while fostering a collaborative and dynamic work environment. We are seeking individuals with outstanding customer service skills who can communicate positively and professionally. In this role, you will support the scheduling of rehab appointments and responsible for obtaining accurate financial information for insurance processes. A fundamental understanding of medical terminology and anatomy is essential. You will need to accurately obtain, interpret, and convey necessary medical information, including medical history, lab results, diagnostic testing, allergies, and medications to medical providers. Proficiency in understanding and interpreting ICD-10 and CPT coding is also required.
Key Responsibilities :
- Scheduling & Order Management : Schedule appointments across all outpatient rehab programs and verify physician orders for accuracy. Transcribe and address any discrepancies in orders, and determine if authorizations are needed.
- Insurance & Financial Management : Verify insurance eligibility, collect patient financial obligations, and assist with financial assistance applications. Ensure accurate insurance information and handle financial inquiries effectively.
- Lean Process Participation : Engage in Lean processes to enhance efficiency and complete the required minimum each fiscal year.
- Therapy Plan Tracking : Send and track therapy plans of care, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up with referring providers.
- Customer Service Excellence : Provide exceptional service with a friendly, professional demeanor. Communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and clinical staff.
