Your Role With Us:
The Cardiovascular Care Unit or CVCU, is a 30-bed Intermediate & Intensive Care specialty cardiac unit caring for heart failure, surgical cardiac, thoracic, and vascular patients, and acute coronary syndrome- interventional cardiology and electrophysiology services. The CVCU multidisciplinary team is dedicated to providing excellent patient care to our diverse community; Our Heart Program has been named one of the nation’s Top 50 Cardiovascular Hospitals for 2020. This is our fifth designation — and third year in a row — to be recognized with this honor. CVCU has achieved the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) Silver Beacon Nursing Care Excellence Award 2013-2016 and again in 2019.
Our clinical staff pride themselves on their teamwork and clinical expertise. Our culture is patient centered with high expectations around quality care and customer service. Our nurses are specialty trained to care for this patient population with a focus on growth and mentoring; advanced certification is encouraged and promoted. We provide training along the spectrum from novice to advanced cardiovascular intensive care including training for Intra-abdominal Balloon Pump, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy, Targeted Temperature Management and Ventricular Assist Devices.
2025 New Grad Cohort dates: February 24th, April 21st, July 28th, August 25th, September 22nd and October 20th.

Background/Expertise:
- Requires BSN or non-nursing Bachelor's Degree with MSN. Candidates with an Associate's degree in nursing (ADN) also encouraged to apply. *Agreement to complete BSN within three (3) years of hire required .
- Less than one (1) year of nursing experience required.
- Unencumbered licensure to practice nursing as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon, required one week prior to hire date.
- BLS required upon hire.
