What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Lab Technologist Per Diem position at Salem Hospital?
Under the direction of the Laboratory Operations Coordinator, performs a wide variety of sophisticated laboratory procedures utilizing independent judgment and maintaining responsibility for assigned duties. Must be familiar with all phases of laboratory procedures in blood bank. Must be Computer literate and have a basic understanding of computer interfaces. Must also be familiar with specimen processing protocols for both inpatient and outpatient procedures. May be requested to perform duties in any of the preceding laboratory sections in accordance with abilities, training, and need.
Skills: - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and be able to demonstrate any knowledge or skills necessary to perform testing in his/her assigned laboratory section. Requires intense attention and concentration and ability to handle several processes concurrently. Education/Degree: - Associate degree as Medical Laboratory Technician or above required. Licensure/Certification/Registration: - MLT (ASCP) or equivalent preferred.
