Certification Details BLS Active Massachusetts RN License Job Details Adult Psych RN Days / Evenings / Nights Rotate & EOW – 40hrs. Unit Name : Epstein 5 – Adult Psych. Brief Unit Description : 30-bed unit, adults ages 18-65. We treat patients with diverse types of mental health issues (anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, dual diagnosis patients : Detox here on the unit while treating mental health issues), and some medically acute patients (IVs, CPAPs, Wound Care, diabetic care). Years of Experience Required : 2 years minimum of inpatient adult psych experience. Skill Sets Required : Proficient in using automatic medication dispensing system (Omni Cell); proficient in electronic health records documentation, preferably EPIC; proficient in the use of psychotropic medications and side effects; Able to assume the role of charge nurse; Able to complete admissions and discharges. Competent in the use of IV pumps. Competent in care of diabetic patients. Clinician to Patient Ratio : 1 RN to 7 or 8 patients. Patient Population : Adults ages 18 to 65 years. Bed Count : 30. EMR (Charting System) : EPIC. Floating Required : Yes. Rotating Shifts Required : Yes for Day Rotate. Rotation not required for Night positions. Job Requirements Active Massachusetts RN License. AHA BLS. Certification in De-escalation. Additional Details A completed primary COVID-19 vaccination series that is approved by the FDA or WHO OR an up-to-date COVID vaccine if a primary series was never received or completed is required. No exemptions or waivers (religious / medical) will be considered. Documentation of two measles vaccines, two mumps vaccines, and one rubella (German measles) vaccines or two MMR vaccines OR proof of immunity via blood test. Must have documentation of TB skin test screening within 3 months of start date. Vaccine required during flu season Sept 15th - April 30th.
