Responsibilities
Administrative Support:
- Providing key administrative support to two Salem executive—Director of NNPA (Camarillo, California) and our VP of Government Affairs (Minneapolis, Minnesota).
- Assist department management with daily administrative tasking, facilitating key filings with the FEC (Federal Election Commission), maintaining calendars, processing expense reports, and handling mail.
- Serving as the primary point of contact for department-related administrative inquiries and communications.
- Oversee and coordinate special departmental projects including, but not limited
- Track progress on key projects and provide timely updates to management.
- Process monthly contributions and disbursements.
- Manage Federal Election Commission (FEC) reports and track PAC-related transactions.
- Prepare and coordinate mailings, including donor correspondence and compliance-related materials.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date databases, including contacts for talent, producers, and other key relationships.
- Ensure that all information is accessible, organized, and kept current for easy reference.
- Create and distribute reports to department management and Salem’s editorial partners as required.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth communication and operational flow.
Experience: Minimum of five years in administrative services within a comparable setting, with demonstrated experience managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional multitasking abilities and a strong sense of urgency in completing tasks.
- Ability to work well in a high-energy environment resembling a newsroom, but with an executive office structure.
- Interest in culture, politics, ethics, and Western Civilization.
- Familiarity with Salem’s platforms and content is a plus.
- Self-starter with a strong ability to learn independently and quickly
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong proficiency with QuickBooks for managing financial records, invoices, and reports.
- Strong business correspondence and communication skills, both written and verbal.
