21C High School Summer Internship - Internal SPS Student ONLY (10-12 Openings) SY2025-2026
Job Description & Program Goal:
The 21C Internship aims to provide high school students who are interested in pursuing a career in the education field with a full time summer internship. This internship allows students to gain valuable experience while offering additional support to students at 21st CCLC summer sites.
Internship Commitment: The 21C internship is a 5-week winter program. Interns are expected to be available for the all 5-weeks of the internship program. Interns will be required to attend a program orientation in June and participate in 5-weekly workshops sessions during the 5-week summer internship.
Internship Requirements:
- MUST attend the internship orientation in June (tentative dates June 23rd and/or June 24th)
- MUST be able to commit to the full 5-weeks of summer program. July 7th- August 8th.
- Interested in working with elementary and/ or middle school aged students
- Current 10th, 11th or 12th grader with Salem Public Schools
- Complete Summer Work Permit Paperwork
Preferred Candidates:
- Participated in an OST Internship during the 24-25 School Year
- Interested in a career in education or youth services
- Experience working with young people
- Complete 21C Intern Application by May 29th
Internship Locations, Dates & Time:
Elementary Program:
Location: Saltonstall School
Dates/Days: Monday, July 7th - Friday, August 8th *Site runs Monday-Friday
Time: 8:00-4:00 pm **option to be a bus monitor for additional hours.
Middle School Program:
Location: Salem High School
Dates/Days: Monday, July 7th - Thursday, August 8th *Site runs Monday- Thursday
Time: 8:00-2:30 pm **option to be a bus monitor for additional hours.

- Reliable, punctual, and able to adhere to schedules and program requirements.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to complete tasks, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively while being open to feedback.
Pay Rate: $16/ hour
**All Interns are required paperwork for Salem Public Schools must be completed before the internship begins, and interns must be at least 16 years of age by the start of the program.
