Overall responsibility
Responsible for all Food & Nutrition Department accounting including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, reconciliation of accounts in MUNIS and monthly, quarterly and year end reporting. Also, includes grant reporting, employee scheduling as well as general office work.
Key areas of responsibility
- Payment of all accounts through the city’s accounts system
- Invoicing of all payable accounts
- Preparation of deposit notification paperwork
- Reconciliation of all food service related accounts, including grants
- Filing of all paperwork related to purchases and acquisitions, grants, personnel, etc.
- Prepare Monthly P&L statement
- Assist in the preparation of the department budgets
- Assist with processing payroll on a weekly basis
- Report Milk and Meal Counts and Monthly Meals Tax
- Communication with city finance office and school budget office on a regular basis
- Replacement of absent cafeteria staff with substitutes each morning, as necessary
- Answering phones, greeting visitors
- Daily reconciliation of POS system/cash
- Assisting Food Service Director and Assistant Director in other daily tasks, as required

Term of Employment
Full-time, 52 weeks
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Business or Accounting) or equivalent
- Minimum of two years of account payable/ receivable experience
- Solid understanding of accounting systems
- Demonstrable Computer Skills: Google and Microsoft Office – especially spreadsheet and documents.
- Ability to work in a s fast paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- MUNIS experience a plus
- Ability to keep confidentiality required
- Excellent problem solving, organizational and communication (including telephone) skills
- Ability to take direction and work as a team and independently
- Strong sense of customer service
- Must pass a CORI and Fingerprinting check
Job Environment
- Work is generally performed indoors, with occasional exposure to rain, snow, heat, and cold weather conditions when traveling between school buildings
- Frequently operates office equipment including computers and calculators
- Makes frequent contact with other school, city, state, or county personnel, as well as contractors and vendors.
