Job Summary:
The Accounting Assistant will provide administrative support to the Accounting Department and the Salem Red Sox management team. Administrative duties may include but are not limited to assisting with handling accounts payable and receivable, remote bank deposits, player development expense reimbursement filings with our MLB affiliate, and general clerical duties.
The Accounting Assistant must be able to multi-task, organize and prioritize tasks, and willingly assist Front Office staff where needed. Due to our business's seasonal and event-driven nature, the successful candidate should be able to focus on, prioritize, and balance the most critical and time-sensitive responsibilities when the team is in season.
Essential Job Functions:
· Accurate data entry.
· Provide general administrative/accounting support, including copying, filing, correspondence, and telephone inquiries.
· Additional duties as assigned by your immediate supervisor and/or management team.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Knowledge and skill in using computer software, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Knowledge of accounting software is helpful.
· Acute attention to detail.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple tasks flexibly but professionally.
· Strong verbal and written skills; ability to communicate in a professional, knowledgeable, and courteous manner with employees, clients, vendors, business contacts, etc.
· Ability to be self-directed in a team-oriented environment.
· Ability to work evenings and weekends in an event-driven environment.
· Ability to adhere to the highest standards of confidentiality and discretion in all proprietary business, financial, and employee matters while maintaining open, direct, positive, and objective lines of communication with management.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum high school graduate or currently enrolled student working on a degree in finance or accounting.
- Minimum two years of business, general office, accounting experience, or a combination of education and equivalent experience.
