Salem United Methodist Church is hiring a Church Secretary /Administrator
Hours could range from approx. 10 hr per week in the summer to 32 hrs per during busy. Ideally, a candidate would be interested in working regular hours at least 3 days a week. Some flexibility for working at home exists with advance planning.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Greet people at the door, answer phone calls, and emails on behalf of the church.
- Work with pastor and coordinate worship supplement including print bulletin, slide presentations, managing volunteer rotations, etc.
-Primarily responsible for in church communications including weekly E-newsletter, social media, website, publicity notifications, and other promotions.
-Coordinate building schedule and manage various requirements related to this area.
-Assist public and members with cemetery, preschool, and other matters by answering questions or directing communications to the correct person.
-Support church ministries with various printing and resource assistance
-Support church leadership and committees as needed.
- Work collaboratively with other staff and church members.
Summary of Requirements:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent computer, internet, and email skills, familiarity with Google Workspace is a plus.
- Able to prioritize duties and multi-task.
- Keep confidences and respect the privacy considerations of individuals and sensitive matters.
