The Salem University School of Nursing is seeking nursing faculty.
Job Title: Nursing Faculty, Clinical and Campus
Location: Salem University, Salem, West Virginia (In-Person)
Position Type: Part-time, adjunct
Position Summary
The Adjunct Clinical Faculty provides expert instruction and supervision to nursing students in clinical settings focused on pediatric, obstetric, and neonatal care. This role involves facilitating student learning, evaluating clinical performance, and ensuring safe, high-quality patient care experiences.

Salary: $45 per hour; 10-24 hours per week
Monday to Friday, Weekends available
Medical Specialty: OB/GYN, Pediatrics, Neonatal
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and instruct nursing students in pediatric, obstetric, and neonatal clinical rotations, ensuring safe and effective patient care.
- Provide hands-on teaching, mentorship, and real-time feedback to develop students' clinical reasoning and technical skills.
- Collaborate with healthcare facility staff to ensure positive learning experiences for students.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through direct observation, skills check-offs, and clinical documentation reviews.
- Align clinical instruction with course objectives and accreditation standards.
- Serve as a role model for professional behavior, ethical practice, and patient-centered care.
- Maintain current knowledge in pediatric, obstetric, and neonatal nursing practices and education trends.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Nursing (preferred) or BSN with extensive clinical experience in pediatrics, obstetrics, or neonatal nursing.
- Active, unencumbered RN license in the state of West Virginia or Multi-State License.
- Minimum of two years of recent clinical experience in pediatrics, obstetrics, or neonatal nursing.
- Previous teaching, precepting, or clinical education experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
