Job Summary:
The Resident Care Associate (RCA) performs various resident care activities and assists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) in the Memory Care residence.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assists residents with personal activities such as bathing, oral hygiene, dressing, undressing, and ambulation.
- Changes bed linens.
- Complete laundry tasks.
- Helps clients move around safely.
- Assists Life Enrichment team with programming and activities.
- Reports to a supervisor or case coordinator any changes in a clients physical condition, behavior, or appearance.
- Solves routine client problems, promote healthy lifestyle habits, and provide general companionship and advice.
- Provides a caring and positive presence for the resident.
- Documents the services delivered to clients, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Supports the organization's mission, vision, and values by becoming familiar and acting in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Promotes exceptional customer service by participation in Salemtowne Shines & fulfilling the commitments & values of the program.
- Completes annual compliance and HIPAA training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the Code of Compliance in the performance of their duties.
- Adheres to Salemtownes policies and procedures regarding the compliance program of the organization and is timely in reporting any possible concerns.
- Follows all local, state, and federal regulations as they pertain to their position.
- Adheres to Salemtownes policies and procedures covering privacy and security in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Active certification in first aid and CPR.
Physical Requirements:
- Capable of standing and walking short distances for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull objects more than 50 pounds.
- Stoop and bend at the knees, twisting from side to side at the waist.
- Reach above, below, and at shoulder level.
Work Environment:
Works in a controlled, secure, location. Possible work hazards include bloodborne pathogens, moving parts, muscular pains, and strong offensive odors.
