Title I Summer Enrichment Program
Multilingual Learner Teachers - Rising Grades 1-6
(2 Positions Total)
Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts teacher certification in ESL.
- Successful teaching experience.
- Willingness to implement standards based curriculum in Literacy and Mathematics.
- Ability to relate /communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and administrators.
- Experience working in the Malden Public Schools is preferred.
- Applicants must commit to being present for each day of the program. See dates below for more info.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer and score pre/post tests and write anecdotal evaluations.
- Participate in two staff development meetings.
- Plan with other educators during the 30-min. ‘Prep’ period.
- Implement rigorous and standards-based lessons using core curricular materials as well as targeted, Tier 2 interventions in literacy and math.
- Complete planning logs for each session and maintain student attendance records.
- Keep folders/portfolios with student work.
- Perform other related activities as required.
Duration:
Program Administration and Implementation 90 hours total to include the following:
· Professional In-service Days June 17 (6 hours each day).
· 20 days, Monday-Thursday, June 30 – July 31 (8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.).
Salary: $37 per hour, $3,330.00 total
Funding Source: Title III Grant
