Facilities Maintenance Technician
The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the effective maintenance and repair of the facility's infrastructure, equipment, and systems to maintain a safe, clean, and functional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
General Maintenance
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the function and presentation of our facility is above expectations. Variety of duties to include, but not limited to painting, cleaning, replacement of ceiling tiles, light fixtures and bulbs, floor care, parking lot maintenance, and other duties as requested by management.
Repairs
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions in various facility systems and equipment.
- Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner.
- Prioritize tasks to ensure critical issues are addressed promptly.
- This includes troubleshooting issues and determining the best course of action for repairs.
Safety Compliance
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with federal and state safety regulations and standards.
- Perform safety checks and address any potential hazards promptly.
Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and time spent on tasks.
- Ensure all maintenance logs and documentation are up to date.
Planning & Coordination
- Assist in planning and executing facility upgrades and improvements. Provide input on potential improvements and cost-effective solutions.
- Work closely with other maintenance staff, facility managers, and departments to ensure smooth operation and maintenance of the facility.
- Work with external contractors for specialized repairs and major projects. Coordinate and oversee their work to ensure it meets quality standards and timelines.
Inventory Management
- Monitor and manage inventory of maintenance supplies and tools. Order new supplies as needed to ensure the availability for ongoing tasks.
Fleet Vehicle Maintenance
- Maintain maintenance records and schedule routine maintenance on all company-owned vehicles
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- HVAC knowledge and experience required
- Proficiency in electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to interact effectively with team members and external contractors/vendors.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to operate power tools, forklift and scissor lift as needed.
- Valid Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
- Familiarity with safety regulations, building codes, and maintenance best practices.
- Plumbing, HVAC or A certification preferred
Working Conditions:
- Physical Demands - Must be able to climb ladders, lift 50 pounds, and work safely.
- This position typically operates in a professional office environment.
- Standard hours are Monday-Friday, 8:oo am to 5:00 pm with with occasional overtime during peak periods or special projects.
- Be available for emergency maintenance and repair situations as needed, including after-hours and weekends.
