Associate Attorney (For Business/Litigation)
An associate attorney plays a crucial role in our firm, working effectively as a team member and handling individual caseloads. The ideal candidate must have a strong commitment to achieving excellent results for clients through intelligent and aggressive advocacy.
The associate attorney is responsible for managing a large caseload, from inception through settlement/end of representation. Key responsibilities include drafting and filing pleadings, motions, and memoranda of law, conducting legal research, attending depositions, preparing witnesses, handling court hearings, and trials as necessary and assigned.
Other key tasks include developing collaborative strategies, advising clients on their best interests, serving as the principal contact between the firm and clients, taking or monitoring statements of clients or third parties, independently handling decision making on a case-by-case basis, consulting with clients and other parties, and providing leadership and direction to paralegals and legal assistants.
A successful associate attorney will possess excellent oral advocacy skills, thorough writing skills, and solid negotiation skills. Leadership skills are also essential, as well as the ability to work well with a variety of people.
The associate attorney must be licensed with The Florida Bar and have 4-6 years of business litigation experience. A graduate of an accredited law school and being in good standing with The Florida Bar are also required. Trial experience is a plus.
