Representing more than 20 premium manufacturers, they provide comprehensive solutions ranging from distribution to transmission equipment, switchgear, and advanced software systems. Their diverse client portfolio includes investor-owned utilities, electrical cooperatives, municipal utilities, EPCs (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction companies), and OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers).
THE JOB
As an Outside Sales Engineer, you will serve as the primary relationship manager for utility clients throughout Western North Carolina and South Carolina. This consultative role combines technical expertise with relationship-building skills to provide innovative solutions for complex utility challenges.
Key Activities :
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with utility engineers, managers, and procurement specialists
- Conduct regular field visits to assess client needs and discuss upcoming projects
- Present technical solutions and manage complex sales cycles ranging from 3-12 months
- Collaborate with internal teams to prepare and submit comprehensive bids
- Manage project pipelines through CRM
- Represent multiple vendor partners at regional and national trade shows
- Provide first-line technical support while leveraging additional resources as needed
