THE JOB
As a Senior Truck Bed Design Engineer , you will spearhead the design and development of functional, durable, and visually appealing truck beds. This role involves leveraging your mechanical engineering expertise to create innovative designs, manage product Bills of Materials (BOMs), and collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring ideas to life.
Youll work closely with production, sales, and marketing teams to ensure that your designs meet market demands, industry standards, and the companys high-quality benchmarks. This position offers the chance to lead key initiatives in material selection, cost optimization, and product innovation, all while contributing to the company's legacy of excellence.
Key responsibilities include :
- Design and Development : Create innovative truck bed models, including flatbeds, service bodies, and specialty products, using SolidWorks.
- Prototyping : Collaborate with production teams to build and test prototypes for functionality, durability, and compliance with industry standards.
- BOM Management : Develop and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), ensuring alignment with design revisions and production needs.
- Material Selection : Choose materials that balance cost, weight, and strength to enhance product performance.
- Collaboration : Partner with internal teams to incorporate customer feedback and align designs with market demands.
- Quality Assurance : Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company quality benchmarks.
