Behavioral Health Specialist (Psychologist or LCSW)

Our client is seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Specialist to join their compassionate Social Work team. This role plays a vital part in an clinical team, advocating for each patient's behavioral health needs and overseeing a caseload to ensure comprehensive therapy and support. Setting: Outpatient clinic

Population: Geriatrics

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough behavioral health assessments to identify patients' needs, preferences, and goals. Actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to develop specific goals and interventions.

• Deliver and document behavioral health interventions in accordance with patients' care plans. This includes symptom management, counseling, crisis intervention, and coordinating necessary resources and services.

• Facilitate individual and group therapies, utilizing various approaches such as art and music therapy, psychosocial drama, counseling, and discussion to help restore or enhance patients' social roles.

• Provide training to staff on recognizing behavioral health symptoms and implementing effective interventions.

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an LCSW or by the California Board of Psychologists as a Psychologist

• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in behavioral health, specifically in conducting therapy, completing assessments, and managing care planning needs

• At least two (2) years of experience working with frail or elderly populations
