Position Overview:
We are seeking a Health Information Management (HIM) Specialist l to manage the administrative and record-keeping functions of our HIM department. In this vital role, you will maintain the integrity of both paper and electronic health records by handling various tasks such as retrieving, prepping, scanning, indexing, filing, and reconciling patient medical records. Additionally, you will review and respond to confidential health information requests while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and Colorado law.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the integrity of paper and electronic health records.
- Retrieve, prep, scan, index, file, import, and reconcile medical records.
- Review and respond to requests for confidential health information from authorized requestors.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory guidelines.
- Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external requestors.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience: 3 years of experience in a business, HIM, or healthcare setting.
- Customer Service: Proven track record in providing excellent customer service.
- Electronic Health Records: Experience with EHR systems.
- Education: Associate degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.
- Completion of a medical terminology course is a plus.
