Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a RAN Test Engineer located in the San Francisco Bay Area. The RAN Test Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day tasks related to Testing of the RAN Network elements using COTS, UEs, Prototype UEs and UE emulators. Generate and analyze reports from UE and Core Network logs for KPI measurements. Utilize QCAT, Xcal, QXDM, TM500, Viavi UE and Core Emulator, Keysight Nemo Analyzer, Network TAPs and Wireshark / T-Shark

What we are looking for
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Telecommunications
Good understanding of 3GPP NR, LTE Air Interface, and wireless communication such as link adaptation, massive MIMO, etc.
Experience with creating test plans based on requirements
Hands-on experience of using testing tools and equipment such as Signal Generator, Signal Analyzer, etc
Experience in using UE diagnostic tools such as QXDM, Nemo Analyzer, Actix Analyzer
Experience in generating Excel or tableau / analytics-based dashboard / reports
Fundamentals of 4G and 5G SA Core
Ability to work with multiple teams from different vendors, identify risks on the test schedule, and communicate to the project management teams.
Strong written and oral communication skills
Experience of working with cross-functional teams and RAN vendors
What You will be doing / Primary responsibilities
Develop scripts, automate test execution, debug issues, and generate reports based on test requirements using UE Emulators such as Viavi TM50 & testing tools such as Keysight Nemo
Develop scripts, automate test execution, debug issues, and generate reports based on test requirements using Android devices in the RF shield room.
Create dashboards to compare results with previous runs,
Collect logs and report issues with vendors, participate in troubleshooting
Changing configuration, collecting counters, generating KPIs on the gNB side using RAN vendor’s EMS
Analyze UE logs collected from the field trials and generate reports.
Collaborate with multiple teams from different vendors, identify risks on the test schedule, and communicate with the project management teams.
Support RAN technology trials in the lab and field
Co-ordinate and host troubleshooting calls with Vendors and internal teams, take meeting notes, and drive action items
Support teams in testing related activities in the lab

Knowledge of packet capture tools, UE logs, and spectrum analyzers is a plus.
Basic knowledge of IPv4, IPv6 and transport layer
Experience with UE Emulator, Keysight Nemo Tools, programmable attenuator
Ability to develop scripts to automate the execution of Android devices in the RF shield room
Experience of using Samsung USM or Ericsson ENM
