What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wellness Floor Attendant position at Salina Family YMCA?
Overview:
Under the direction of the Wellness Coordinator, the Wellness Floor Attendant will carry out the tasks necessary for smooth operation of the Wellness Center. This person must be highly skilled in providing a safe environment for the people using the Wellness Center. This person must possess excellent communication skills and exemplify the YMCA core values of care, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the general appearance and cleanliness of the wellness center.
- Take the required courses and certifications and maintain certifications.
- Responsible for ensuring that all participants follow the rules of the Wellness Center.
- Responsible for helping participants by answering questions to the best of your ability and within your scope of practice.
- Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.
- Responsible for having all required paperwork completed and filled out appropriately.
- Attend all staff meetings and other applicable YMCA events.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting all participants, maintaining a clean and safe facility and demonstrate professional conduct at all times.
- Responds to challenges with possible solutions in a timely manner.
- All other duties as requested.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds in the form of supplies or equipment.
- Strong communication and judgement skills.
- Able to sit, stand and bend to perform appropriate tasks.
- Follow all requirements as requested by the supervisor.
- Must be able to move at an appropriate pace to respond to emergencies.
- Follow all safety requirements of the Salina Family YMCA.
- May be required to stand for extended periods of time.
- Work in different temperature environments.
- Certifications: CPR and New Employee Orientation within 60 days of being hired.
- Must be 16 years of age.
- Meet service members in a responsible and friendly manner.
- Knowledge of the policies, procedures, and safety of the members using the equipment.
