What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Manager position at Salina Public Schools?
- Coordinates with contractors and other trades as needed for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently.
- Inspects facilities, systems and their components for the purpose of ensuring safety and identifying necessary repairs and providing an ongoing program of preventive maintenance.
- Coordinates with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for the purposes of inspection and review of building electrical and life safety systems.
- Installs system component parts, classroom and office equipment and facility components (e.g. lighting, clocks, security, electrical panels, computer cables, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining facilities in a safe, comfortable and operating condition.
- Maintains tools and equipment for the purpose of ensuring the availability of items in safe operating condition.
- Prepares documentation (e.g. requisitions, drawings, reports, logs, etc.) for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information.
- Procures equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required items.
- Repairs various items, systems and/or components requiring significant troubleshooting capabilities and a working knowledge electrical principles and life safety codes.
- Transports various items (e.g. tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.
- Recommends policies, procedures and/or actions (e.g. equipment, products, vendors, etc.) for the purpose of providing information and/or direction that ensures efficient operation of assigned areas and regulatory compliance.
- Responds to immediate safety and/or operational concerns (on call 24 hours a day) for the purpose of taking appropriate action to resolve immediate safety issues and maintaining a functioning environment.
- Punctual and regular attendance is an essential function of the position.
- Assists in snow removal for the purpose of maintaining a safe environment.
- Assists other trades as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
- Attends meetings and workshops for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.

ELECTRICAL MANAGER
Purpose Statement:
The job of Electrical Manager is done for the purposes of visioning, establishing and executing repair and maintenance systems and procedures to improve and sustain effectiveness and efficiency in district electrical systems including but not limited to: building electrical service and distribution systems, fire alarm systems, elevators, score boards, sound systems, lighting systems, electronic entry control systems, generators, lifts, electronic equipment, and digital display units. Directly leads and supervises 2 technicians in the fulfillment of this purpose. Reports directly to the MEP Systems Manager.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating equipment used in skilled trades including power and hand tools, etc.; adhering to safety practices; handling hazardous materials; and planning and managing projects.
