Position Summary:

The wound care advance practice provider specializes in the care of patients suffering from gastrointestinal or urinary diversion, wounds and skin conditions, fistulae, incontinence and related conditions through the lifespan. The provider functions as a consultant, facilitator, educator, change agent, program designer, and resource person to a defined patient population and caregivers, supported by knowledge and competence in the areas of research, leadership, consultation, education, and professional growth. Under the direction of the Medical Director of Wound Care assumes a leadership role in strengthening collaborative relationships with healthcare leaders, physicians, and nurses in various settings to improve patient/family outcomes along the care continuum. Specifics of the position include assessment, and ongoing treatment of outpatients needing treatment in the outpatient setting and inpatients needing consultation and treatment in the inpatient setting or treatment in the clinic setting.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education
-
Master's degree in from an accredited advanced registered nursing program, or Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited physician assistant program

Minimum Experience

One to two years experience in a clinic setting preferred

Required Registration/License/Certification
-
Current Kansas Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner license (APRN); or current Kansas Physician Assistant license (PA-C)

Prefer National certification relevant to clinical practice area

Basic Life Support certification will be accepted from either American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Health Care Provider, or Basic Life Support (American Heart Association-Health Care Provider).
